High Quality Professional Lightweight Boom with great internal cableThe boom extends easily covering whether one needs a short approximately 3 and a half foot to long 9-foot pole. An important part of that is the well-made twist locks which are very easy and fast to use and well-made to handle the rigors of in-the-field use. The boom is well-balanced carbon fiber and remains rigid even at longer lengths.Each end of the boom is notched for easy internal cable use. The cable has a woven covering and there's absolutely no cable noise during movement. The cable ends are well-made and look like they'll last for a long time. One end has the option to switch between 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch which is a nice flexible feature depending on the mount you're using. There are two foam holding points making it easy on the audio person's hands over time.There's a nice thin padded case and there are three velcro ties with a loop on the end of each. Also included are simple instructions although its use is intuitive for an experienced audio person.This is a high-quality professional boom at a reasonable price compared to some of the name-brand competitors.

So far this has been one of the best boom arms I've worked with, it's lightweight, easy to extend and break down, and comfortable to handle. We've mainly been using this with the AT875R and the balance and weight is well distributed. I weighed the boom with cable and the 875R connected with shock mount and it was 36.9 ounces or 2.31 pounds.The cable in the pole works well and is easy to remove or put in, and aesthetically it has a nice modern look that looks good in behind the scene captures. The boom comes with a carry case that unzips all the way and is slightly padded, I'm also able to leave the mic and mount attached while the boom is zipped in for faster movement when on the go.Overall I'm very pleased with the performance of this pole and can definitely recommend it for on set work or in the field.

My last boom pole was a Gitzo carbon fiber model that was hard to beat. But that was when I owned a studio and could afford the most expensive gear. Now that I'm retired, all the gear I used to own is now with a new owner after selling the studio, so I find myself replacing some of the gear I still use and need. I was so happy to discover this boom arm from Raubay.This boom arm seems very well made and the carbon fiber seems top notch. It's in three sections and adjusting the length is a breeze. The XLR cable is preinstalled and runs inside the shaft. The cable is sheathed to prevent any handling noise inside the shaft. The cable seems to be a good quality cable.I use this boom pole with a big microphone blimp for wind mitigation, with a Rode shotgun mic inside. The blimp is kind of big, especially with the giant dead cat, but the pole has no issues supporting the weight. I wasn't familiar with the Raubay brand before, but I see they make quite a few nice products and are well regarded.A nice padded case is also included to keep the pole protected between uses. I always appreciate a good case!I know people will ask: Is this as nice as the Gitzo boom pole I used to own? Let's cut to the chase... nothing is better or even as good as a Gitzo, so it's not a fair comparison. Plus the Gitzo sells for around $360, so it's really hard to compare the two apples to apples. But overall, I have no complaints with this boom pole and think it's a tremendous value in comparison. It's comfortable to hold, well made, strong and lightweight. It's made from quality materials and has no problem dealing with my heavy mic system, and even comes with a padded case. On my current retirement budget, this is about as good as it gets in my opinion.

Really surprised at how much I like this boom pole for microphone. We have a couple of more expensive ones, but this one might be my new favorite. It's super long and extends easily. The 1/4 and 3/8 thread is easy to change over. If you are the boom operator, you are thrilled when your long pole is light, especially after a full production day. I'm very pleased with this choice.

Before getting this product, I was completely unfamiliar with RAUBAY. Now, however, I'm searching their Amazon store to see what others products they make! Weight was measured by holding, and then not holding the item on a highly accurate home scale, multiple reads returning identical values, so confident in weight estimate. Hard to weigh this thing by itself given the shape.From a usability perspective, this is extremely comfortable to hold. Pretty standard foam for the grips, but even with my hands (XL/XXL glove size) the diameter of the grip makes this comfortable to hold. The boom is easy to open and close, and there are only two sections to expand which allows this to remain VERY sturdy once extended. The joints to expand/contract are aluminum fittings, and work very well to hold it either opened or closed. I don't know if there is any bit of plastic on the boom pole itself...The XLR cable comes installed, but can be removed pretty easily if desired. It is not a coiled cable, but has a fabric exterior to help minimize noise when bumping the pole inside. A good shock mount for your mic should help minimize any noise caused by rapid movement.The threaded fitting on the end of the pole can be swapped around if needed, for either a 1/4" or 3/8" threaded fitting.Lastly, the storage bag is awesome! Seems like overkill for this item, but very grateful they include it. The padding is very thick, and offers super protection.Really great product from this company, and truly has me rethinking my "go-to" brands when it comes to quality audio products. At this price point ($100 to $120), it is punching WAY above it's weight class.Well done!

I have recorded audio for small indie film projects since the early 2000's and have used a ton of booms. I wish I had this one a long time ago. Most of the ones I have either owned or borrowed were aluminum. Those work fine and are light enough until you find yourself in a awkward position holding the mic for an extended period of time. A few ounces difference does make a difference in those situations. Also this one doesn't transfer the same or as much incidental sound. The aluminum ones you have to be careful of the mic cable rubbing inside or against the boom because that sound directly transfers to the mic. Its still possible with this boom but its not as delicate. This is definitely my new go to boom.

All jokes aside, this is a perfectly functional boom arm - maybe not studio-quality, but great for personal projects, small commercial shoots, or potentially even indie productions. The carbon fiber construction is lightweight yet sturdier than expected, and the cable routing options (both internal/external) allow for a wide range of uses. Need to mount an array for live performance capture? Screw a mic bar to the top, clip additional cables to the outside, and rig your recorder to the handle. Just standing there with a shotgun as part of a bigger production? Plug in the internal cable, route it to whatever outboard gear is in place, and rest assured you're getting a nice clean signal.

Well made and works well. It seems like it will be very easy to use and very durable. Much better than several others we have tried.

Okay, so I was getting tired of my mic stand constantly getting in the way during shoots. Enter this AUBAY Microphone Boom Arm, and let me tell you, it's a game changer! This thing is seriously sturdy, but somehow still feels like it weighs next to nothing. I can extend it way out to capture audio from across the room, or keep it compact when I need it close.The carbon fiber is super cool - it looks sleek and professional, and it's way lighter than those clunky metal ones. Plus, it comes with both 1/4" and 3/8" screws, so it works with basically any mic I throw at it.Honestly, if you're doing any kind of video production, podcasting, or even just recording yourself on camera, you need this boom arm in your life. It's made my setup so much more flexible and professional-looking. Highly recommend!

If your looking for a decent priced, quality boom that will get the job done nicely look no farther. This boom is a great little performer, I was pleasantly surprised by it. It’s lightweight but feels solid at the same time, even fully extended. The built in cord is a nice plus. You may struggle a bit outside in less then ideal wind conditions but overall it’s a great little boom. It’s defiantly a solid addition to our equipment bag. I defiantly would recommend it, especially to those who are just getting started and looking for some decent affordable equipment.

This is a nice boom pole. The carbon fiber is nice and light as well as rigid. It still has some weight to it, so don’t expect it to be light as air, but considering the length it can telescope to, it’s to be expected. It has an XLR cable built into it which is convenient, and I’m generally pleased with this item.

I have always used a guitar players type mic stand as the coveted boom mic in all the film and video I've ever done. Always got the job done and does have multiple transformations but this boom mic here is way better.The boom stick is light but sturdy, extending out for wider camera shots. It securely holds my shotgun mics, no problem whatsoever. It also comes with a pretty decent, cloth type XLR cable. Bonus!If you are shooting a movie and you have a an extra hand on deck in your crew, this boom mic with make the jobs quick and flexible.

This boom arm is long yet fairly lightweight.The included XLR cable connection is nice as it's always a hassle to deal with cables on the boom arms.The build quality is excellent and in my opinion comparable to some more expensive options from established boom arm makers.

This boom pole is very lightweight and the padded sections help to reduce fatigue when holding it. The locking sections are secure and stay put once you tighten them. The carbon fiber tubes and metal locking mechanisms give me confidence that this isn't going to fall apart on me. I really like that the microphone wire goes through the pole and that you can change it out for a different one if you desire. The boom has minimal flex even when fully extended. Overall, I am very happy with it.

I have a few raubay products, and they’ve been of surprisingly high quality. The carbon fiber on this pole is solid, the connections for the slip joints are all nicely machined aluminum, at full extension they have some droop but you don’t feel it when holding the boom. The included cord is nice, and it’s also nice that they have swappable components. The included xlr cord could be longer though, at full extension you only have a couple feet, it’s juuuust enough to reach your input jack.

I'm fairly impressed with this Boom Arm. It is well made, light weight, easy to use, and looks great! I used to work as a Location Sound Recordist in Hollywood many years ago, so I've worked with a LOT of different boom poles, including heavy and not very well constructed ones, so I am confident this will work for my current needs. That, and it's a really great value for the price! Recommended.

I like the concept of this boom pole. This is mainly for filmmakers on a budget. Top of the line Boom range between $400 and up. However this one is very smooth, you just need to get used to it to feed the cable accordingly when filming that is all. Other than that, it reaches almost 6' is very comfortable to use, and is lightweight. It comes with a nice padded soft case.
