🟡 EINLEITUNGDie Fotografie gehört zu meinen wichtigsten Hobbys, und ich bin ständig dabei, neue Kameraausrüstung anzuschaffen. Ich habe schon früher Auslegearme gesehen, besitze aber selbst noch keinen.Ich erhielt das Angebot, diesen Stativ-Auslegearm von RAUBAY zu testen, und war gespannt darauf, herauszufinden, ob er etwas taugt.🟢 TESTERGEBNISSENachdem ich diesen Auslegearm getestet habe, kann ich sagen, dass ich von der Gesamtqualität sehr beeindruckt war; es handelt sich tatsächlich um ein äußerst nützliches Zubehörteil. Ich werde dies näher erläutern.Für diejenigen, die mit dieser Art von Gerät noch nicht vertraut sind: Die Grundidee besteht darin, die Kamera seitlich versetzt zur Mittelachse des Stativs zu positionieren, anstatt sie direkt oben auf dem Stativ zu montieren. Dadurch haben Sie mehr Flexibilität bei der Positionierung Ihrer Kamera.Der wohl wichtigste Einsatzzweck dieses Geräts ist die Aufnahme von Objekten aus der Vogelperspektive (sogenannte „Overhead-Aufnahmen“). Mit einem herkömmlichen Stativ allein lassen sich solche Aufnahmen nicht realisieren, da die Stativbeine dabei ins Bild ragen würden; dieses Gerät löst genau dieses Problem, indem es die Kamera weit vom Stativ und dessen Beinen entfernt positioniert. Die Bilder zeigen, wie das Gerät für eine Aufnahme von oben verwendet wird.Während des Tests war ich von der Qualität des Artikels sehr beeindruckt. Er ist tatsächlich weitaus robuster, als ich erwartet hatte. Ich war zunächst davon ausgegangen, dass die Qualität etwa der einer typischen Stativ-Mittelsäule entsprechen würde – doch er ist wesentlich stabiler gefertigt.Die Stabilität dieses Geräts ist von entscheidender Bedeutung; denn wenn man eine Kamera mit einem Gewicht von 1 kg oder mehr weit vom Stativ entfernt positioniert, wird das Gerät einer enormen Belastung ausgesetzt. Ich bin zwar kein Physikexperte, doch die Länge des Auslegers bestimmt maßgeblich das Ausmaß dieser Belastung. Ein langes Bleistift lässt sich beispielsweise leichter mit bloßen Händen zerbrechen als ein kurzes.Besonders gut gefällt mir die Art und Weise, wie dieses Gerät am Stativ befestigt wird. Dieses Gerät verfügt über einen Drehknopf, mit dem man das 3/8-Zoll-Loch an der Unterseite drehen kann. Das ist eine hervorragende Lösung, da man das Gerät zum Anbringen oder Abnehmen einfach durch Drehen dieses Rades fixiert bzw. löst. Hätte es nur ein normales 3/8-Zoll-Loch wie die meisten Geräte, müsste man das gesamte Gerät mehrmals drehen, um es anzubringen, was sehr ärgerlich wäre. Was die Einstellung des Auslegearms betrifft, so gibt es zwei Komponenten, die sich verstellen lassen: die Feststellschraube zur Anpassung der Armlänge sowie das Element, das den Arm am Stativ befestigt.Der Knopf zur Längenverstellung ist aus Metall gefertigt und von hoher Qualität. Man dreht es einfach nach rechts, um es zu lösen, und man justiert es wie die Mittelsäule mancher Stative.Die Befestigung am Stativ erfordert einen zweistufigen Einstellvorgang. Zunächst muss man den Klemmhebel anheben, der das Bauteil fixiert. Anschließend löst man die Feststellschraube, die ebenfalls der Arretierung dient. Nun lässt sich das Element entweder näher an das ausziehbare Ende oder näher an das gegenüberliegende Ende verschieben.Um eine Kamera anzubringen, benötigt man einen Kugelkopf, der an einem der beiden Enden montiert wird. Es ist sogar möglich, zwei Kameras gleichzeitig zu verwenden, indem man einen zweiten Kugelkopf am anderen Ende befestigt.Ich habe den Auslegearm mit einer Kamera getestet, und er hat dabei hervorragend funktioniert. Er trug das Gewicht absolut problemlos und sicher. Allerdings konnte ich die volle Funktionalität des Auslegearms nicht vollständig überprüfen.Idealerweise sollten an einem Ende des Arms Gegengewichte angebracht sein – genau so, wie es auf den Produktbildern dargestellt ist. Da ich über solche Gegengewichte nicht verfüge, konnte ich den Auslegearm nicht in seinem vollen Funktionsumfang nutzen.Ohne Gegengewichte kann es gefährlich sein, den Arm mit angebrachter Kamera vollständig auszufahren, da sich dann ein hohes Gewicht auf einer Seite befindet und er leicht umkippen kann. Eine relativ sichere Nutzung des Auslegearms ohne Gegengewicht ist jedoch möglich, sofern man die Kamera in einem Abstand von etwa 30 cm (oder weniger) zum Mittelpunkt des Stativs positioniert. Das andere Ende des Verlängerungsarms ragt weiter heraus und dient als Gegengewicht.Alles in allem handelt es sich hierbei um einen sehr guten Auslegearm, und ich bin froh, ihn zu besitzen.🟣QUALITÄTDie Gesamtqualität ist sehr gut und scheint die günstigerer Auslegearme zu übertreffen. Das Produkt besteht aus einer CNC-gefrästen Aluminiumlegierung und wirkt äußerst robust. Laut Produktbeschreibung beträgt die maximale Traglast an jedem der beiden Enden 5 kg – ein beachtlicher Wert, der für die meisten Kameras vollkommen ausreichen dürfte. I've always been a very cautious about suspending my gear for overhead shots with extension arms but that time is now past thanks to this extension arm from RAUBAY.Starting with construction, this is an all metal, very sturdy and stable extension arm. Aluminum ally construction keeps the strength high and the weight under control so you can take it with you on location. The attachment point can slide along the length of the arm easily and I would recommend adding a plate to mount it on a tripod. I had the best results when I was using it like this. More on that later.The key features that I found valuable were the dual mounting points on each end of the boom arm. I was able to put a ball head on each end and shoot top down or with a rotated head at an angle. The other key feature is how easily you can position the arm itself by using the middle latch. Just lift up and slide. I would suggest doing this when the arm is unloaded but I did it loaded a few times with some care.I found this arm to be extremely versatile in my work with it. A ball head on one or both ends, top down shooting, dual camera shooting, and raised angled shooting are all easy to do with this. I was able to use two Nikon Z9 camera bodies along with larger and heavier prime lenses at the same time with zero issues. If you're going for a single camera setup, I would take care in how you balance your rig. Add weight to both the tripod and the opposite end of the boom arm to be sure everything is stable. The final tip, to get the best experience, I would mount this to a plate that snaps into your favorite fluid head. Once that's on, attaching this becomes a simple thing and you're up and shooting very quickly.Overall, this arm provides a lot of professional level functionality at a great price. I have no issues with the product at all and I'm very satisfied.

I do a lot of YT videos and food photography and this Tripod extension arm is just what I needed. It fits on my tripod and extends up to 40". My life just got so much easier. It has connectors on both sides so two cameras, lights or microphones can be mounted the same time if needed. It has a knob to attach the arm and once it is tightened it is very stable and sturdy. Can be adjusted easily with the special clamp. It is made of heavy duty aluminum and is light to transport. This will work great for overhead shots. If you use the whole length and one camera, I would put some weights on the other side just to be safe. Overall great value for the money and a must for any photographer and videographer! I love it and now I don't know how I ever could do without!

This is an extremely sturdy extension arm that gives your tripod the capability to mount your camera for a great overhead shot. The aluminum alloy in the arm is thick and makes it very stiff so there is no vibration or sway in the arm. You should of course mount this on a tripod that is very stable. The arm has a center mounting base that slides to where you want it and locks down tight with a lever. The arm is adjustable from 26" to 40" in length.The center mounting base two types of screw holes for attaching to the tripod: one 3/8" female screw hole and two ¼" female screw holes. There is a rotating collar that allows you to easily tighten this down on top of a tripod that has a 3/8" screw and that is probably the best type of tripod. But the ¼" is a versatile option if you need it. At the bottom you will find a handy tool to help tighten things down. Overall, the design is helpful for quick and reliable connection.At the ends of the arms you have mounting screws that are 3/8" male and are padded with anti-slip rubber pads. You need to plan how you will mount your camera to this screw. The product videos show one of the easiest ways is to use a tripod ball mount head that is compatible with 3/8" screw tops.The payload specifications say this can handle 5 kg on each end of the arm, so that's 10 kg total. And you obviously need to balance the load evenly at each end of the arm. This gives you the option to mount 2 cameras, or one camera and one light, and other endless options are possible. For a one camera situation, the cheapest way to add a counterbalancing weight is to use photographer's sandbags on the opposite end from your camera. If you decide to spend money to get screw-on counterweights, they'll have to mount onto the 3/8" screw.You'll need to figure out all these mounting options and weight counterbalancing for your equipment needs. But in the end It's worth the planning to use this very capable extension arm that provides reliable functionality for overhead shots.

This is a very well designed and built extension arm. It was very well packed with proper protection. Given its relatively higher price I was little skeptical. But, I was proven wrong very quickly, the build quality is very high, there is no slack anywhere. The best part is the adjustment ability. You can adjust all movable points. The collar near the center lever works so well. Same is true with the length and the mounting knob. Once you set it right this is very quick to deploy and can take serious load depending on your base support and extension length.One of the better product from RAUBAY that can compete with high end brands. Its expensive but if you need this setup its a good option.

Got this to get more overhead clips, which is the angle I find easier and more comfortable to record from. I am using a Canon R5 mirrorless camera with the 16 mm f/2.8 pancake lens. It is light enough to stay on the extension arm when extended upwards. The build quality feels premium, and it looks like no corners were cut when making this solid extension arm. It is adjustable from 26 to 40 inches, an impressively wide range. Yes, it is more on the expensive side, but capturing content at the top-down angle is so worth it!

I tested it with a Sony mirrorless paired with a 24–70mm lens (around 2 lbs total), and it handled the load confidently.There’s no noticeable flex, wobble, or play in the joints. The RAUBAY Tripod Extension Arm TE01 is a very nice boom for both photography and videography. It’s extremely well made, constructed from heavy-duty aluminum, and feels very solid once mounted. I’ve used it for overhead and top-down shots, and it handles the job with confidence.I especially appreciate the swing arm balance options and how easy it is to make adjustments. Once everything is dialed in, it stays put and feels secure. The inclusion of both 1/4" and 3/8" mounting holes makes it versatile for different cameras, lights, microphones, and accessories without needing extra adapters. The center knob operates the 3/8" connector.I did run into one issue at first. When I initially tried to use the boom, the attachment knob was jammed onto the threads. At first I thought it didn’t rotate at all, but since it has to rotate to function, I realized something wasn’t right. I inserted an Allen key into one of the knob holes and applied a significant amount of torque. That freed the knob from its stuck position and allowed it to rotate properly. After that, everything worked perfectly.I’m not deducting for that initial hiccup since it resolved completely and hasn’t caused any further issues. Overall, this is a very solid, well-designed extension arm that performs great once set up.

It easily holds my camera and 16-35mm lens.The extension arm base has both 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch threads for mounting to a tripod, but I was a little disappointed to see that only 3/8 inch threads were included on the end for mounting my camera. I had to spend extra to get a 3/8"-16 female to 1/4"-20 male adapter to mount my camera to the end.It’s nice that both ends have threads for mounting camera, lights, and counterweights, but I really wish 1/4”-20 threads were used instead of 3/8.This is a great tool for filming overhead content.
